MLK jr. DAY [17 Jan 2005|02:01am] Dear Dr. King, I'd like to tell you HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Uhmm, I'm too lazy to look up how old you would be now, but I'm pretty sure its in the eighties. When I look back at all the things I learned about you in grade school, it just makes me smile. The things you did for African-Americans such as myself, and not just for us. You cleared the way for every other nationality too. You wanted to do things non-violently, but you still put up a great fight. Without you, I might not be able to walk into Red Lobster, and be served the same as everyone else. No one could ever get rid of all the racist people still living, but you opened peoples' minds, and helped them see that the color of someone's skin does not determine their personality, or their intelligence.
